Exhibition Workshops

Schauwerkstaetten1Up until far into the 19th century, the stables of the castle were situated on the ground floor in the western wing. Its layout with the feeder and water basin can still be identified on a historic plan.

After using the rooms as cellars and for storage in the 20th century, they now house a historical coin workshop, a book printing museum and bookbinder's shop with an included stamp workshop.

Within the latter, visitors can learn how medals are made out of tin or aluminium. After buying a medal or a lucky penny, you can get active yourself and punch the current date into it.                     Even more fascinating is the printing technology with some parts being more than 85 years old and still running. On specific occasions, such as the annual castle and marksmen festival or the Christmas market, the devices are being demonstrated to the public.
